9th World Water Forum
The countdown to the world’s largest water event is underway and this year, for the first time, the World Water Forum will be held in sub-Saharan Africa.
The event takes place on 22–26 March 2022 in Dakar, Senegal. The Forum will play host to politicians, economic decision-makers, multilateral institutions, academia, civil society organisations, local authorities, and the private sector.
This year’s overarching theme is ‘Water security for peace and development’ and will cover four key areas:
- Water Security
- Rural Development
- Cooperation
- Means and Tools
In addition to a booth, GWP will participate in a wide range of events to demonstrate the impact of its multi-stakeholder partnership, in particular in Africa, on improving the way the world manages its water resources. GWP will engage in a wide range of events including two important launches:
- The Africa Water Investment Programme High Level Panel (TBD)
- The new GWP Toolbox - IWRM Action Hub
